As founder of an occult organization, the Brotherhood of the White Temple, I have had hundreds of requests to name the books which I considered to be necessary for the forming of a basic occult library. I have endeavored to list those which I consider necessary for a comprehensive reference library. Of course, there are hundreds of books in the occult field which supplement the ones given, but there are few subjects or questions which cannot be answered by reference to the books.
Special subjects must of course be supplemented by additional matter. This is an attempt to give a basic library listing, not to cover the field, by a listing of all hooks. From my own experience I believe these books to he absolutely necessary for any good occult library.
Good occult books are constantly rising in value and a fine library is a good investment as well as a source of pleasure.
